    obeson County has served as the pilot site for Dreams-of-Flight. Exploration Station Children's Museum, in collaboration with the public school system and Celebration of Flight committee, commenced work with project director June Guralnick in January 2003 (with completion date of December 2003). Click here for director's project dedication.

County-wide activities include:
Creation of literature and art work by children and teachers from selected elementary, intermediate, and senior high schools. The best of the work will be published by Exploration Station.
Public exhibition of children's art work, along with a display containing archival materials about Robeson County's groundbreaking African-American female aviator, Ida Smith.
Painting of a mural with flight theme at the County Airport.
Implementation of a school curriculum-based "Earning Your Wings" education program.
Design-a-Glider contest for children.
Participation in the interstate children's collaboration.
